Binky
Binky the rabbit rested on the edge of a parapet and looked up at the night sky. There, in the midst of the twinkling stars, shone a bright multi-colored light—her home planet, Rigel.
It was so far away that it didn’t seem real, but it was close enough for Binky to make out the outline of its continents and the swirl of its clouds. She wondered what it would be like to be there, to breathe its air and feel its warmth. Would she ever get back there?
A tear rolled down Binky’s cheek and landed on pavement. She didn’t know how to answer her own question, but one thing was certain: whatever happened, she would never forget her home.
