Diva

Diva

I hate it when I land in a lake of fire, thought the rabbit. These time portals are so unpredictable. Diva stood, wincing from the heat, and looked around. The ground was scorched and burnt, the air smoky and thick. Despite the danger, the dark pink-furred creature found herself in awe of the blazing orange sky, mesmerized by the waves of heat shimmering in the air.

Suddenly, she felt something wet puddling up around her feet, and looked down to see a lake of cool water slowly rising up around her. She sighed with relief as the liquid lapped against her fur, drenching it and providing a much needed respite from the fiery surroundings. Diva took a moment to bask in the moment, marvelling at the juxtaposition of these two very different elements, so close together, and yet so far apart. She then decided, with a newfound courage, to take the plunge and continue on her journey.
