Jake

Jake

The highway was Rabbit territory. In the early hours of the morning, they could often be seen on the overpasses, their heads raised to the heavens, munching contentedly on whatever edible delights they'd managed to scavenge from the nearby fields. Occasionally, a giant rabbit would appear amongst them, a regal creature with a majestic air, as if it had been appointed guardian of the highways by some higher power. It would watch the cars go by, its eyes seeming to take in every detail with a patient, knowing gaze, before eventually disappearing into the shadows of the trees.

Meanwhile, the sun continued to rise higher in the sky, its warmth spreading across the land and bringing a new day of possibilities with it. And so the highway stretched on, a never-ending ribbon of asphalt and steel, its story seemingly frozen in time, forever waiting to be told.
